Day 41 - When in Rome... Eat Mexican

We headed to Rome on a whim because we were only a short train ride away, none of us had ever been and... well, how could we miss it?!? We had no idea how large Rome was until we stepped off the train and saw how far it was to walk from one end of our neighborhood to the other! It's enormous!! We are definitely going to be getting in some steps this week!

The thing that excites us most about visiting Rome is the variety of cuisines it has to offer. I feel like it's sinful to say, so I'll whisper it... "Clint and I don't know if we can eat any more Italian food"... sshhhh! Austin disagrees with this statement. For the record, he can still eat pizza every day! Kate is indifferent. Every Italian meal on the trip has been insanely delicious, but we have been longing for our staples back at home for weeks—Asian and Mexican. Our tastebuds did a happy dance as we ate Mexican on our first night and stir fry on our second! Greek food is on the menu tomorrow.

Our Airbnb near the Pope’s house is really cool; having the feel of an authentic, old family apartment. It's quite spacious and bright, but CHILLY!

COLD FACT: According to Italian Law, heat can only be turned on in homes from November 1 to March 31. Owners risk paying high fees if they defy these restrictions. Italians take energy saving (and recycling) very seriously. I can respect that even though I'm shivering!! :)
